THE END is a handmade film montage in real-time, which examines the relationship between projection and illusion. While the performers produce the film, they step in and out of a series of images which they complete, take apart, twist, turn or reverse. They lead the audience through a succession of experiments like in a display cabinet. The film starts at the end and, image by image, works its way back to the beginning, where the question of time prevails. This black-and-white spectacle ranges from grammatical hocus-pocus to a pop-philosophical disquisition on the stretching and condensation of the present. A dadaistic film noir about time, light, shadows, sense and optical illusion.
